How to use

This catalogue presents programs designed primarily for small growers, horticulturalists, gardeners and organic farmers.

It does not mean that MINERAL is not suitable for farmers in intensive production. But, intensive production is already regulated with some technological programs of cultivation and the use of MINERAL must be suitably incorporated into them. For such production adequate programs for MINERAL use are prepared individually and are therefore not described in this catalogue.

Programs presented here are meant for a vast variety of plants cultivated in Europe. Similar plants are grouped in one program as they do have very similar development. If some specific questions arise, contact your local distributor or the producer.

Programs described here are only for common guidance. Keep in mind that basis for the successful farming, no matter big or small, is good practice. That means to choose the right plants for the right place, planting in the appropriate soil, proper fertilization without exaggeration, reviewing plants regularly to find out diseases or pests, crop rotation, etc.

MINERAL is a great help to plants to be more healthy and sturdy in their development, but is only a part of your daily care of plants. With the correct use Mineral™ will contribute greatly to your efforts to get successful crop.

If you are in doubt how to use MINERAL, contact us. We will be happy to help you.

FRUIT SPECIES AND VINES

Fruit species are fruit trees, fruit berries and Mediterranean plants such as olives and citrus fruits.

They live for decades, much longer than vegetables that grow one year, at least most of them. Vegetables’ life cycle is many times even less than a year, which means that all life processes run much faster compared to perennial plants. Perennial plants are slow, live long and grow big, it takes time to give fruits and all processes of life are well paced and moderate.

This moderate growth relate to the use of substances of Mineral™ in the same manner. It takes time. Effects in all perennials species will be seen after two or three years. To get really good results one has to use Mineral™ permanently during the life cycle of plants, the same as it is with vegetables. Mineral™ helps building the immune system in plants from the sowing or transplanting till maturation. It is wise to give plants help throughout their lives.

Remember that Mineral™ is not a medicine like pesticides, fungicides or herbicides and neither is basic food like fertilizers. It does not work directly on a disease or pest but brings strength to plants to defend against invading pathogens by themselves.

This explanation is necessary to accentuate the importance of patience with the use of Mineral™ on fruit trees and bushes to achieve really good results and these good results are good and abundant crops in the way of organic production.

Mineral™ reliably takes care for the quality of fruits. But, do not forget other important components like basic fertilization with organic or mineral fertilizers, tillage of the soil in the area of roots, weeding and watering. All are necessary for perfect results.

In the case of hail spray as soon as the leaves dried with 8% solution of Mineral™ Yellow and repeat the next day.

Spray with 8% solution of Mineral™ Yellow if damage on plants arises due to the incorrect use of some plant protection product.

CEREAL CROPS

This instruction for Mineral™ use on cereal crops is intended primarily for organic farmers on smaller surfaces.

Mineral™ can be applied in the intensive production on large areas as well, but has to be integrated into the existing technology of basic and additional fertilization and the use of plant protection products.

Mineral™ in intensive production of cereals can reduce the consumption of fertilizers to some extent and reduce the consumption of chemical plant protection products to the significant extent.

The reduction of chemicals in the production of cereal is an absolute must for the future. Chemical protection products are a growing problem with more restricted standards of registration, with prolonged withdrawal periods and with unhealthy remnants in the crops. Here, Mineral™ can distinctly contribute to diminution of chemical protection of plants.

Watering with Mineral™ Green is workable on smaller areas and less feasible on bigger surfaces. It will have good effects on plants in all types of the soil, sandy soil exempt.

Spraying with Mineral™ Yellow and Mineral™ Red is achievable on all kinds of fields.

In agricultural cereal crops production a dose of protective mean per unit of area is a measure, whereas the water consumption can be different. A dosage of Mineral™ Yellow and Mineral™ Red Mineral must not be less than 8 l/ha and not more than 12 l/ha in 200-300 of water for preventive spraying. For curative spraying the dosage is double, not less than 16 l/ha and not more than 24 l/ha in 200-300 of water.  The exception is potato where more water has to be used due to the increased leaf mass of potato.

Take into account the general recommendations for correct spraying of crops:

  • 1,5-3 bar pressure (no more than 4 bars),
  • use the corresponding nozzles
    • for watering with Mineral™ Greene even flat fan nozzles,
    • for spraying Mineral™ Yellow and Mineral™ Red flood nozzles with rotating jets
  • speed of spraying 6-7 km/h (no more than 8 km/h)

Never spray in the wind or strong heat and not until the dew is on plants.

The development phases scale used for cereals is BBCH scale. (Lancashire, P.D.; H. Bleiholder; P. Langeluddecke; R. Stauss; T. van den Boom; E. Weber; A. Witzen-Berger (1991). “A uniform decimal code for growth stages of crops and weeds”. Ann. Appl. Biol. 119 (3): 561–60).
